Inspired by the constant pro-Yankee Facebook status updates made throughout the playoffs by kids who I distinctly remember wearing Reyes and Wright t-shirt jerseys to high school.
A $5 bottle of champagne
was an incredibly awesome purchase. It may not be “real” champagne but hey, I’m not on the “real” team.
I distinctly remember going to a Yankees game a long time ago with my Dad and we sat behind this really fat drunk who spent the entire game eating peanuts and heckling Johnny Damon (who was then on the Royals) to the tune of Barry Manilow’s “Mandy”. I still don’t know the significance of using that song but when you’re an old, drunk, fat man devouring peanuts by yourself at a Royals game in late August do you really have to explain yourself?
